Buenos Aires

Once it was a theater, now a bookstore, with a cafe and live piano in the stage. Welcome to Buenos Aires, El Ateneo Grand Splendid

The widest avenue of the world, Av. July 9, is 140 m wide, with 20 lanes, pedestrian islands in the middle that divides some lanes and even sometimes statues&landmarks.

It’s not possible to cross the street in one green light cycle, if the initial Green Light is not your Olympic starting gun to sprint 🏃. Takes a few minutes to walk.
At one side of the avenida, the singing mural of the legendary “Evita” Peron looks down on you, on the Ministry of Social Development building, who fought for women’s suffrage and improving the lives of the poor.

MAYBE I couldn’t go to a Boca Juniors/River Plate match, BUT i played the “Joga Bonito” with fans of Boca/River, IN my first Couchsurfing experience, AT Buenos Aires/Argentina
